All good stories begin and end with tales of exploits and adventures in our favorite places, hence enters Madonna Bailey with her friends of then already successful Restaurant Sho-Dan. Over 15 years ago decided they should open their own place and they did. She believed that the West Island lacked high-end sushi restaurants. So in September 2003 the restaurant opened its doors and has been a West Island of Montreal sushi destination since.

The restaurant was called Aikawa situated on Brunswick Boulevard. The name “Aikawa” come from the village in Japan and means “Rover of Love”. Aikawa is also popular family name in Japan and Nanase Aikawa is a famous pop music star.

It grew to become to a very exceptional fine dining Japanese establishment in Montreal. It was known for its quality and innovative styles.
